i got into ML before crypto: my undergrad thesis (2018-2021) was on facial expression recognition, training FER models with GANs and early transformers to find the relationship between emotions and dementia severity among elderly patients.
around the same time i went deep on NLP: fine-tuned small transformers to summarize clinical interview notes, and used GANs to generate synthetic training data for low-resource emotion datasets.
these days i think mostly about prediction markets, perps, defi, LLMs, and smart glasses.
on the last one: i prototyped smart glasses that run small llms on-device.

emotion-dementia mapping: thesis work. multimodal pipeline combining FER with speech prosody features to estimate dementia severity in elderly patients, validated against clinician-scored assessments.
expression synthesis for imbalanced FER: conditional GAN that synthesizes minority-class facial expressions (fear, disgust) to augment FER2013 and CK+, improving minority-class recall over classical oversampling.
vision-guided autonomous forklift: perception stack for a warehouse forklift. a CNN detector localizes pallets and estimates pose from the load-facing camera so the forks align with the slots, while depth from a stereo rig maps nearby obstacles for path planning and safe navigation.
